Hello and welcome to John L. Golden Elementary. My name is Jeff Sipos and it is my pleasure to be the principal of this fantastic school. I am looking forward to meeting all of our returning families as well as those families who are new to the school or the neighborhood.
Golden is an exceptional school with a dedicated staff. Since 2002 when Golden first opened, it has been, and will remain, a great place for students to learn and to grow. This 2018-2019 school year will once again bring many opportunities for parent engagement and student growth
What is PBIS? (Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports)
Don't be confused by the fancy name. When your children are at home, they understand your expectations for behavior because you have spent time teaching your child how to be safe, respectful and responsible within your home and neighborhood. At Golden Elementary, PBIS is no different. At school we teach our expectations for student behavior just as clearly as we teach students how to read and write and solve problems. Take a look around our campus and "see" the visual reminders for our behavior expectations defined by location. Please come to our PBIS Family night on October 25th to learn more.
I encourage parents and guardians to be involved in their child’s learning process by attending school events, serving on a school committee, volunteering at the school, and simply talking to your child about their learning. The rewards of parent engagement are many and undisputed. Our school PTA is just one great way to get involved, be inspired, add value, and to make a difference.
Mr. Sipos
